i got off the race june 4th, 2019.
here’s how that’s been.
please enjoy this picture of me sobbing at the airport with my friend brittany. this night was hard for so many reasons- canceled flights, exhaustion, and most of all, having to say goodbye to the family i made over the course of nine months.
flying back to the states, we sat next to the most precious korean baby ever.
no… not that precious korean baby…
this one!
so stinking cute. upon talking with his parents, we found out it was their first time going to america! so exciting.
when i got home, i got to see some of my family members. these two, connor (left) & ryan (right) are my YOUNGER cousins who have grown so much in the nine months i’d been gone. it’s weird almost being 20 & your 12 year old cousin is the same height as you.
my friends madigan & kimberly surprised me with concert tickets and these cool green pants! doing normal teenage activities in the u.s. felt super weird. overall, it was a fun & surreal night.
three weeks after the race there is an event called “psl” hosted in gainesville, georgia at the adventures in missions base. it is basically a week long event where we see how we’ve been doing over the past three weeks. during psl, we have sessions on how to share the gospel in america, we learn how to healthily move on from the race, & we get to see each other one last time as a squad all together.
on this morning of psl i got to eat brunch with some of my favorite people ever.
i also hosted 15 people at my friend’s house and it was very interesting and very loud and very fun!
eating brekky with my friends hehe.
these simple moments with my weirdo friends are the best.
our daily commute to adventutes in missions consists of lots of laughter, karaoke, sometimes tears, and lots of dancing.
kori moon + rainbow = lots of happiness
lake day with liv, my future squad leader and friend!!!!!
liv is an incredible woman of God whom i love very much.
continuation of lake day with sj. i love this woman so much. she is authentic and full of Peace. she is hilarious and is the perfect hugging height (5’9” to be exact).
continuation of lake day with the bestie maddie, my mentor and friend kg, & my sista lyss. this day was a great day filled with great women!
hugging lyss goodbye temporarily. she is moving to georgia from new york for college and i’m really stoked about that.
while i was gone, one of my mentors got pregnant & had a baby!
a lot can happen in nine months, y’all.
one day my friend dani and i set out on the drive to go see sarah, t.j., & baby john. typically, i do not like babies. however, this baby is cool and looks like an old man so i enjoyed my time with him. getting to catch up with friends is also really great.
here u can really see how uncomfy john is in my arms. me too, john. me too. but hey, i’m growing and so are you! how cool!
maddie slept over (she was a treasurer on the race), and we had the opportunity to burn our receipts from the race with her. goodbye forever, logistics & treasury.
one week after psl ended, training camp began. only this time, i was a leader! that is… wild. one year ago i was in the same building getting ready to dedicate a portion of my life to “do the race”. now i have the privilege of leading others through their race. God. is. so. good.
here we have cami pranking me with a kombucha sticker on my back.
oh yeah! these are the people i will be leading with for three months. from left to right we have philip wilson, aidyn carnes, kori moon, cami ramon, and jacob lewe. we appreciate lots of prayer seeing as we have no clue what we’re doing. with the Holy Spirit as our guide and really incredible leadership above us, we know The Lord will do amazing things through and in us.
here are some of the women i will be leading for three months! making friendship bracelets at summer camp is a must.
mornings outside… thank you, Abba.
more rainbows. His promises are good.
we won squad wars this year! i think it’s luck of the kate goeler shirts hahahaha.
being home has had many ups and downs, and that’s okay. this season of transition isn’t easy, and it’s worth it.
thank you for reading this update. it’s so good to blog again! stay tuned for more blogs soon 🙂
you are amazing!
much love,
kori
Thanks for all the pictures. Your mom will love that Liv likes the Packers. I love seeing and reading all about what you are doing and all the people. See you again soon. Love you so much!!

**(^0^)/
love this & you a whole lot! i laughed a little too hard at “no not that precious korean baby.”
(* u *)/
i debated whether or not to put it for a long time & now i’m glad i did. love you lots, mo!
“…seeing we have no clue what we are doing…but Holy Spirit as our Guide…”
Now that, God can work with! Glory!!!!!!!
It is so good to hear from you again. Love Liv also since she knows the best football team! And laughed a lot at your post. You are so tiny. Did you shrink from all the steamy, hot weather here in Geogia? And never stand between Connor and Ryan again-makes you look even smaller. Ha ha. Seriously, love your post and love you more. Can’t wait to see what God does next in your life. gobbie
