hi everybody! as most of you know, i’m on a 9 month merry-go-round called the world race. i’m currently serving in cambodia, and it’s very hot and also very good.

being on the race has given me a lot of space to think about my future. inevitably, many people ask “so what are you doing after this?”, to which i’ve responded “i’m not really sure… i have a couple options… well actually i have no clue”.

that was until 2 weeks ago when i checked my email.

about a two months ago in guatemala, i was eating breakfast with my squad mentor kate. i looked at her and said “kate i wanna talk to you about something”, to which she responded, “you want to team lead for me next year?”.

not going to lie, i was stunned a little bit. it’s like she was reading my mind (orrrrr discernment, but still), and i told her yes and that i would pray about it and let her know.

for the next week i prayed and felt that the Lord was opening an opportunity for me and was giving me the choice to choose team leading or not (which is exactly how i ended up on the race in the first place). i decided i wanted to take a chance, so i told kate yes.

about a month ago i filled out an application, and then a week later i had an interview.

two weeks ago i got an email that read “you have been accepted to team lead!”. i was elated (still am!!!). so what does all of this mean?

team leading is an opportunity to be alongside next years racers to disciple them and lead them and build relationships with them. what this means is i will leave again this september and go with them for three months to help get them started on the chaotic & beautiful journey that is the world race. my team leader, alyssa mcgrail, was the most influential person to me the first month of my race, so i know the importance of this role. i’m so incredibly privileged and honored to be able to have this opportunity, and i am SO excited to see how the Lord will work through me and the people i get to lead this upcoming fall.

please be praying alongside me as i go into this next season of life. pray that i will lead fully dependent on Jesus and not on myself, that i will do everything with kindness and patience, and that i will grow closer to The Father through this opportunity. with this opportunity also comes fundraising, $3,000 to be exact. please pray that The Lord will provide this for me so that i can go forward discipling next years gap racers. please also consider partnering alongside me financially through donating. if you have any questions about how to donate or about anything in general, please feel free to comment, email me, or message me!

thank you all so so much for everything, the prayers, the support, the kindness. you are so appreciated and loved. thank you. thank you. thank you.

much love,

kori
