this blog is dedicated to every person who has ever supported me throughout my journey on the mission field.

prayerfully,

spiritually,

emotionally,

physically,

financially,

thank you.

thank you for supporting me and believing in me and encouraging me and edifying me.

thank you for recognizing how important this is to me, even if you do not agree.

thank you for your prayers,

your “how are you?”s,

your celebrations with me about how exciting this or that is,

your curiosity,

your understanding,

your emails or messages or calls,

your many donations,

your generosity in investing your time in me,

for everything.

why is this so important to you?

The Lord has used the race and my leaders on the race to radically change my life. my alumni team leaders mean the world to me, and i’m so thankful i had them this year to help guide us through the first three months of the race.  they were honest leaders that helped us understand Christ deeper, taught us how to do life on the race (how to live with 40+ people, how to be healthy within your team, how to transition into this way of life and so on), and their guidance set us up for success after they left in december.

this next season of life as a team leader is very new, invigorating, purposeful, and at times, nerve-wracking. i am very passionate about discipleship, but had never had the opportunity to do it in the depth and capacity that i will have this upcoming fall.

how has this journey been for you so far?

emotionally and spiritually it’s been strange.

i go back and forth between extreme excitement and feeling afraid of things i know i don’t need to be afraid of (do i have the ability to lead like and for Jesus and NOT me? am i qualified? will these racers like me? will they think i look like a 14 year old girl like most people say i do?). this journey hasn’t even started yet and it’s been full of ups and downs. thankfully, i am blessed to have really incredible friends and leaders that point me back to the truth and make me feel a little more certain of my abilities within Christ.

financially it’s been the most humbling and kind experience.

about two days ago i checked my fundraising bar & i was blown away at what i saw.

“$1,065”

this number means i am one third of the way funded, or 35.5% to be exact.

i do not have words to explain how much this means to me. i haven’t even officially begun fundraising yet, so the fact that i have this much support already is i n s a n e.

because of y’alls generosity, i am that much closer to being able to disciple this years gap racers. THANK YOU for your generosity, obedience, and your kindness towards me in giving financially. you supporting me is you supporting the men and women i meet and supporting the men and women they meet. this is so much greater than just kori moon. this extends to the kingdom of God.

how can i support you emotionally and spiritually?

  1. coming home from the race is going to be really difficult (that’s an entirely different blog). you can pray that the transition home would be easy and that the excitement i feel for this upcoming season would not overbear the season i am currently in – cambodia.

  2. you can pray that i depend fully on Jesus to lead. pray that i choose patience and kindness and grace over my own ways. that i lead humbly and do not believe the lies that i am incapable of leading others.

how can i help you reach this goal financially?

  1. i only need $1,935 more to be fully funded! because i’m still on the field, fundraising can be a bit difficult. however, soon i will be starting some official fundraisers that you can be on the lookout for via my social media and through email!

  2. ask the Lord. ask Him if he wants you to give, and ask him for guidance in that. pray that others would have their hearts softened to donating towards me and supporting me financially. pray for the Lord to create ways for me and the other team leaders to raise the support we need to so we can lead others this year.

for locals in georgia: this summer will be very hectic for me! from PSL (project searchlight), to attending training camp again, and then launch with this upcoming squad, i will not have enough consecutive time to get a job. however, i will have a few weeks that i would LOVE to serve you to raise funds for this upcoming trip. this could look like babysitting, house projects or cleaning, pet sitting, or any other fun things you may need help with. i would love to serve you! if this sounds like something you might be interested in, please feel free to reach out to me through email and we can talk!

overall, i just want to say thank you to everyone who is helping me make my passion and desire for discipleship come to life. thank you so SO much for all of your support and help. I LOVE YOU.

so much love,

kori

  1. Kori, I am excited for you also. God is so creative in how He sends His children and how He uses them also. I will probably have a few things you can do for me this summer. Can’t wait to hug your neck. Love you. Gobbie
